George Huang founded GCH Systems, Inc. as its Chairman and CEO to develop communications devices and ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) for PC systems. Dr. Huang completed the acquisition of Award Software International by GCH Systems in 1993. Award Software went public in 1996 [NASDAQ:AWRD] which yielded over 100 times return on investment. In 1998, Award Software merged with Phoenix Technologies, Ltd. [NASDAQ:PTEC] where Dr. Huang served as a board member and the Vice-Chairman until March 2006. In his tenure at Phoenix, he also helped take a subsidiary, InSilicon [NASDAQ:INSN] public. At FutureDial, where he now serves as the Chairman and CEO, he has developed mobile system software licensed to wireless operators and cell phone OEMs. He was selected by Venrock, a Rockefeller VC fund, as one of the 40 successful entrepreneurs in its 40 year celebration in 2009. Dr. Huang received a BSEE degree from National Taiwan University; MSEE from Washington State University; and a PhD EE from University of Washington.
Sam Kano, newly-appointed President & CEO of FutureDial, K.K., is a native of Japan who has been associated with the high-tech industries of both Japan and the U.S. for the past 35 years operating primarily out of Silicon Valley. He graduated from Law School, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. During his lengthy career in the high-tech industries, he held key executive positions with a number of Japanese and U.S. companies including Tokyo Electron America, Inc. ( Executive V.P. & General Manager ), Nikko Venture Capital, Ltd. ( Board Member & Director, Venture Development ), Lam Research Corporation ( Board Member & Senior V.P.), Innoquest Coprporation ( President & CEO ), Innotech Corporation ( Board Member ), etc. He has also served on the Advisory Board of FutureDial, Inc. since 2008.
A seasoned professional, Thomas has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. He has played integral roles for startups, mid-stage and fortune 500 companies while holding key positions in sales, business development, product marketing, and systems engineering. Thomas has developed strong alliances and business relationships with top tier organizations such as Asurion, Dell, Sprint-Nextel, Sony Ericsson, and Verizon Wireless. Prior to FutureDial, Mr. Rayas was a Vice President at Axis Market Solutions, a Director at Amnis Systems managing strategic alliances, and was head of Sales in the Asia/Pacific region for Optivision, Inc. He received a BS in Business Marketing from the University of Phoenix and holds an Information Systems degree from De Anza College.
Dan Kikinis has more than 20 years of experience in the development of high-technology products and intellectual property, with more than 250 registered patents worldwide in technology areas such as PCs, Internet, networks and systems. Mr. Kikinis was founder and president of Lextron Systems, where he helped develop intellectual property strategy as a basis for strategic technology claims for several enterprises, most notably Genesys Telecommunications Labs, Inc., which was acquired by Alcatel. Prior to founding Lextron Systems, Mr. Kikinis was president of Oakleigh Systems, with a mission to deliver best-in-class systems and raw patent technology in the general field of PC computing. In addition to designing award-winning PCs, he filed and participated in filing for more than 500 patents, some of which are now widely licensed.
Mr. Kikinis has held design and development positions, some with operational responsibilities, for firms in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He received a BS in Electronic Engineering and an MS in Computer Sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
FutureDial’s VP of Sales in China, Mr. Ying (Brian) Lu brings years of extensive sales and management experience in senior positions in mobile, PC and digital product industries in China such as Legend Computer Group, Digital China, ZhongYiDingXun Communications, and Motorola (China) Electronics where he received awards like the Motorola BRAVO STAR and Motorola PCS Asia Team Achievement Award. Mr. Lu holds an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas in Beijing and a Bachelor of Engineering, as well as an Industrial and Management Engineering degree from North China University of Technology in Beijing.
Jason brings over 13 years of product development experience and 20 years of embedded software development expertise to his role of managing FutureDial’s engineering operations. Prior to joining FutureDial, Mr. Li served as V.P. of Engineering and Magicom, Inc., being responsible for engineering team management. He had also served as Engineering Director for Broadcom and was responsible for projects that resulted in over 14 million handsets sold and generated hundreds of millions of dollars in business. Mr. Li has also served as Engineering Director at Mobilink and as Senior Manager at Award Software. He has a wealth of experience in startups and mobile technology projects, including new platform development, OEM product design, multimedia, mobile handset design and chip development, process control, resource management, software localization and more. Mr. Li earned his BS and MS degrees in Computer Engineering at Nanjing Post and Telecommunication University, Nanjing China, and was twice awarded the National Award for Scientific Advancement in Beijing, China.
Clarice brings to FutureDial over 10 years of PC and software experience in operations and management. She held various management positions in the high tech industry. Mrs. Liao started her career in the banking industry before moving to the international trading business. She then was appointed a manager at GSS, the Taiwan subsidiary of GCH Systems, which succeeded in filing for public offering in Taiwan in 1989. She later took charge of over $30 million annual procurement responsibility at GCH. Clarice served as one of the executive team members while GCH acquired Award Software and took it public.
She joined FutureDial Inc. in 1999 and has since served as the Executive Director of Operations. Today, Clarice takes the responsibility in Human Resource, Finance, Procurement and Operations at FutureDial. Her broad business contacts help her interact with the vendors, business alliances, and governmental agencies in the Asia Pacific Region. Clarice earned her bachelor’s degree from Providence University in Taiwan.
Dr. Wang is the general manager of FutureDial Taiwan region. He brings a successful business track record and a strong software engineering background. Prior to FutureDial, he holds the business responsibilities in Taiwan region for Esmertec, the world’s leading Java ME provider. During his tenure at Esmertec, he grew Taiwan branch’s revenue by over 50% annually.
He enabled HTC and MTK to become the company’s most important accounts in the Greater China area, and closed several multi-million USD deals including the largest ever in the APAC region. Before returning to Taiwan, Dr. Wang worked in US as the software architect and manager to complete and deliver software products for business process automation and scheduling. Chung Ming received a BS degree from National Tsing-Hua University in Taiwan and PhD degree from Ohio State University.
Alan leads sales initiatives for FutureDial within the Chinese market, with his 12+ years of experience in telecom business development and sales in China. He has expertise in the region’s commercial operations and the product purchase flows utilized by Chinese operators. Prior to joining FutureDial, Alan has held senior business development and upper-level management positions for Quiconnect Communications, Inc., Coordinate Technologies Communications Ltd, GoRemote Internet Communications, and Gouke Technologies Ltd., responsible for sales, achieving agreements and guiding business projects for both Chinese and international companies. Alan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University, and has earned an MBA degree form Beijing University’s program of Economics and Management.
