Tony Sun

Tony is a well recognized Silicon Valley venture investor for his distinguished career with Venrock, the venture capital arm of the Rockefeller family. The firm founded or invested many technology companies including Intel, Apple, 3Com, Futuredial and others. Mr. Sun has served on the Boards of numerous companies including over a dozen companies with successful IPOs. He currently is the independent lead director of Cognex Corp. (CGNX) and sits on the boards of various private technology companies including FutureDial. During his tenure as CEO of Venrock, he also co-founded GGV Capital, one of the earliest venture firms to focus on China. He has also served as a member of the Corporation and Trustee of MIT and also a board member of the National Venture Capital Association. Currently, Tony serves as a Commissioner and Trustee of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco. Mr. Sun holds an S.B., S.M. and Engineer degrees in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
